The Wadena Ladies Bonspiel is up and running with one draw Thursday, two draws Friday, two Saturday and three playoffs draws Sunday. The entire draw is posted on www.wadenacurlingclub.ca.

Curl for Kids Program is set to continue Wednesday January 25th 3:45-5:00 PM, then Friday February 3rd and alternating for the rest of the year with the exception of the February Break. The program is based on a drop-in basis for $1 each with a snack and juice to follow. If your child is a member of the Wadena Elem. School program this program is free. The program is low instruction and parents are encouraged to join the kids on the ice. The goal is to have the kids leaving the club thinking curling is fun so we are going to let the kids play their way as long as it is safe.

Please bring a helmet (hockey or bike works) and clean running shoes. The general rule of thumb is the softer the sole of the shoe the better the grip.

After Day 2 Team Bindig is 1-2 while Team Dales is 0-2. Also in the event former Thoen’s Ram Tough Leaguers, Drew Springer and Garrison Fox, are 2-1 with Team Tokarz.

On the Men’s side Team Comfort Curl opens their first game of the Goldline Sask Players Championship vs Randy Bryden at 6:00 at the Regina Callie.

On route to the A-Final Tom Boyes defeated Brent Franko and Mark Prisiak. Team Comfort will be taking full advantage of the unlimited spare rule for the final with 2nd Dustin Mikush at Junior Provincials and the rest of the team at the Goldline Sask Players Championship in Regina. Their route to the final was victories over Laird Lappi and Bob Reynolds. Brent Franko suffered a loss to Tom Boyes, before advancing to the B-Final with a win over Delores Syrota, While Colin Redman lost to Bob Reynolds and defeated Laird Lappi.

After the round robin Team Comfort finished in first place with Team Prisiak alone in second. A log jam at third was broken by head to head records and a tiebreaker is to be played between Laird Lappi and Denise Nelson to determine the 8th and final team in the playoffs. Loser of that game will face Bindig with Garry Leach and Brian Nelson facing off in the consolation event.

Playoffs are set for January 4th with A, B, C finals on January 6th at 5:30.

January 4th games:
6:00 Comfort vs Nelson or Lappi; Reynolds vs Redman; Prisiak vs Syrota; Franko vs Boyes; 8:30 The winners of the first two games and second two games listed respectively will face each other in the A and B Semi-Finals with those winners advancing to the Finals.

The League wraps up with a Skins Game format January 11th.
